My Niece,Coryn's, visit 2009

My niece, Coryn, came down to Miami to spend New Years with us. We took Graciela and Coryn to Miami Metro Z00 on 12/30/09. It was the first time Graciela ever saw zoo animals. She was very curious and stimulated. We took her to see the holiday lights at the zoo before Christmas but the animals were not out. Her favorite animals were the energetic pigs that were running around in there exhibit. She was chuckling and laughing when she watched them run around. After the zoo, we hung out at the Marina near our house and ate dinner. It was a very relaxing day.

Graciela's First Christmas 2009

Graciela had a very nice Christmas. She opened half her Christmas gifts in the morning and the other half after her noon nap. Graciela usually does not take more then a two hour nap; however, she slept for three hours on Christmas Day. I guess opening gifts can wear you out.

Holiday Lights at Miami Metro Zoo

We took Graciela to the Miami Metro Zoo to see the Holiday lights on 12/19/09. She had a really nice time looking at the lights, visiting Santa's wonderland and going on the Merry-go-round.
Here are some pictures we took last night.

Graciela's Dedication

Dedicating a child acknowledges God's sovereignty not only over the child, but also Mom and Dad. Parents present their child before God and His people asking for grace and wisdom in carrying out their responsibilities. Parents also come praying that their child might one day trust Jesus Christ as Savior for the forgiveness of sin.We dedicated Graciela on December 13, 2009 at Christ Fellowship Church. We threw a party for our close friends after the ceremony.

Family Date Night in South Beach

My husband took Graciela and I out to dinner last night in South Beach. We ate at a great restaurant. I would recommend this eatery to anyone who visits South Beach.

Graciela's first visit with Santa

We took Graciela to get her pictures taken with Santa last weekend after church. It was a hectic day. Right before we left to go to church, We noticed that someone stole our outside decorations. I was bummed because it was Graciela's "First Christmas" and it felt like some one stole a part of Christmas away from her. After church, we filed a police claim. The police told us that another house was hit in our community and that this happens every year. The officer told us that the person who stole our decorations will probably re-sell it on eBay or on streets. Well instead of sulking about the incident, we decided to turn the day into something special by taking Graciela to see Santa Claus.

Graciela did not cry at first. When she was sitting on Santa's lap, she was looking at Adam and I. It took her a few minutes to realize, If my parents are in front of me then who am I sitting on? When she turned around and noticed that she was sitting on this funny looking/fat guy...then she started to cry. Luckily, we had already taken a few pictures with Santa before she started crying.
